A new start for four little ones from Haiti....

If you have been following Lacey's blog about our adoption journey, this is where you can keep up-to-date with our children's progress. Lacey will be taking over her blog now since she is home.

The children have been home three and a half weeks. This adoption was an awesome journey, just as our first one was nearly 14 years ago. God's provision is so great! We started out trusting the Lord and just believed it would happen in His timing, if this was God's will for our life. After a visit with Barbara Walker in June of 2009, we found that she desperately needed help, and our second daughter, Lacey, decided to go to Haiti. In the same visit, we talked to Barbara about adopting again. She said she was no longer starting new adoptions to the states because it has become so difficult. I asked her if we could put in for a child with a correctable medical problem and if this would make it any easier, and she said, "Yes". Children with medical visas were easier to adopt. So, on our way home from our meeting with Barb in Bagley, MN, Jim and I looked at each other and new in our hearts what God was calling us to do. The Lord had placed a burden on my heart for adoption about two months earlier when I read the book, The Purpose Driven Life, by Rick Warren. But, he had not given us a clear direction on how to proceed until that time.
